Rituals & Belonging Journey

Short micro-rituals delivered where work happens, several times a week. One-tap responses take seconds but accumulate into a rich belonging signal, and a personal journey only you can see.

What Are Belonging Rituals?

Belonging rituals are short, structured prompts delivered several times a week, on a schedule your organization configures (common patterns include a Monday intention, a Wednesday check-in, a midweek energy check, and a Friday reflection). Each ritual takes under 60 seconds to complete: read the prompt, tap a response, optionally add a thought. Their power comes not from any single ritual, but from the accumulated signal they create over weeks and months.

Why frequency matters

A single pulse survey captures how someone feels on one day. Multiple rituals per week, 52 weeks per year, captures how belonging evolves over time. Rituals reveal patterns that surveys miss: the Friday slump, the post-all-hands lift, the slow erosion after a reorg. This longitudinal signal is what makes the Belonging Journey meaningful.

How Rituals Are Delivered

Rituals reach employees where they already work, requiring no context-switching.

Schedule

Each ritual has its own delivery day and time, set by your organization. The dispatch time respects each organization's timezone setting. Employees receive one ritual per day, with no batching.

Delivery Channels

  • In-app: Appears on the employee dashboard as a card with a one-tap response.
  • Email: A brief, branded email with the prompt and response buttons.
  • Slack: A direct message via the ClimaHQ bot with inline response buttons.
  • Teams: An Adaptive Card in Microsoft Teams with inline response buttons.

Responding

Most rituals use a simple emoji scale response, with an optional free-text field for a brief reflection; some rituals ask a short factors-based check-in instead. Free-text is private, visible only to the employee in their belonging journey. It is never aggregated or shown to admins.

Your Belonging Journey

A personal, private record of how your belonging has evolved, built from rituals, circles, and allyship signals.

What the Journey Shows

The belonging journey is a monthly timeline of your belonging score. Each month's score is computed from your ritual responses, circle participation, allyship check-ins, allyship recognition received, and your team's belonging score, from that month. The timeline shows how your belonging has changed and optionally surfaces your private ritual reflections alongside the score.

Only you see your journey

Your belonging journey is visible only to you. Managers, HR admins, and org admins cannot access individual journey data: it is a personal tool for reflection, not an administrative dashboard.

What Feeds the Journey

Monthly belonging scores are computed from five signals: ritual responses (weighted most heavily), circle participation, allyship check-in consistency, allyship recognition received from peers, and your team's belonging score. A confidence score reflects how much signal was available that month, so a quiet month still produces a score, just with lower confidence.

How to Read the Timeline

Each month appears as a point on the timeline. Hover or tap to see the score, the number of rituals completed, circle participation, and any private reflections you wrote.

Admin Controls

HR admins can manage the ritual library and monitor aggregate participation.

Managing Rituals

HR admins can browse the ritual library, edit each ritual's prompt text, delivery time, and delivery channels, and enable or disable individual rituals from the Rituals admin page.

Aggregate Signal

The HR dashboard shows aggregate ritual participation rates (not individual data). Participation data feeds into compliance reports alongside circle and allyship signals. No individual ritual response or reflection is ever accessible to admins.

Build belonging through consistent practice

Rituals and the belonging journey are included on all ClimaHQ plans.
